Being a huge lover of shortbread (buttery, melt-in-the-mouth, easy and quick), I've created a ton of shortbread recipes on SSM over the years. From festive spiced shortbread to ginger to choc chip to cranberry - this time of year just makes me crave shortbread. With so may to choose from which is your favourite? ​Spiced Christmas Shortbread​Dusted with festive spices, these cookies will bring you some cosy festive cheer.
​Cranberry Pistachio Shortbread Cookies​Not only packed with Christmas colours, pistachio, cranberries and orange are perfect Christmas flavours!
​Ginger Shortbread​Ginger is another wonderful Christmas flavour and these cookies have chewy bits of crystallised ginger thrown into the mix.
​Chocolate Chip Shortbread​Everyone loves a chocolate chip cookie so why not a chocolate chip shortbread cookie?!
​Chocolate Shortbread​These chocolate shortbread are for the dark chocolate lovers out there and dunked in melted chocolate they're extra indulgent.
​Lemon Shortbread​Perfectly melt-in-the-mouth and buttery flavour but with a zingy lemon kick, these lemon shortbread are scrumptious.
​All Butter Shortbread (with Passionfruit Icing)​These classic petticoat tails, as they're known because of their shape, are equally delicious with or without the passionfruit icing.
​Danish Butter Cookies​Very similar to shortbread, Danish butter cookies are often pipe, include vanilla (and sometimes eggs) and coated in chocolate. They generally have a lighter, crisper texture than shortbread though mine tend to stick more closely to the texture of shortbread.
​Viennese Whirls​And these Viennese whirls are essentially Danish butter cookies filled with jam and buttercream. Yum!
